Where do we offer in-home tutoring?
Stepping Stone Tutors, based in Bend, Oregon, was founded in 2004. We offer in-home and online tutoring for 20 in-home tutoring locations including: Atlanta, Austin, Bend, Brooklyn, Colorado Springs, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston, Irvine, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.
What kind of tutors work for us?
We only hire the best tutors around to maintain the highest level of quality for our students. Every tutor is interviewed and completes a criminal and sex offender background check before working with students. Every Stepping Stone Tutor has at least 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience, a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in a related field. Most of our tutors (roughly 70%) have a graduate degree (master's or PhD) and/or teaching credentials.
What subjects can we help with?
We are an in-home tutoring service for K-12 through adult students. We can help with any level of math (basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus), science (biology, physics, chemisty, statistics), reading (including study skills and specializtion for students with learning disabilities - ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, aspergers), languages (Spanish, French, ESL), writing, and test-prep (ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB). We have in-home tutors availalble in 20 locations and also offer easy-to-use online tutoring through our website when we are not able to send a tutor to your home.
How do I get started with a tutor?
When you are ready to get started, we can have a tutor schedule a time to meet at your home, library or other location depending on your preference, usually within 24 hours or less. Most tutors are available in the evening and on weekends.
How does the billing work?
After meeting with your tutor for the first time, you can decide if you want to keep working with them or try another tutor. In some cases, a tutor can be perfect for someone else but not for you. We want to make sure that we find a good long-term fit before helping you setup your billing with us. You can pay by the hour or buy a discounted package of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 hours. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal. |
